Benefits
The benefits are many. There is minimal discomfort compared to other skin-tightening procedures, no recovery time, provides a uniform distribution of energy for an even tightening of the skin, is a non-surgical procedure, is non-invasive with no injections required, most researched and peer-reviewed infrared tightening procedure, and is able to be used on all skin types.
Results vary, but most patients require 1 – 3 treatments. The number of treatments will depend on the severity of the condition treated, which can be best determined through our Laser Specialists. Although most patients will see results after every treatment, they will continue to see the benefits of a Titan™treatment up to six months post-treatment. It takes time to see the results of collagen production, which relies on the body’s own natural healing process. Immediately following the procedure the skin will have a pink/red appearance as well as mild swelling which may last anywhere from 20 minutes to 48 hours post. Frequently asked questions about Laser Skin Tightening
Titan® utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. During the procedure, the skin’s top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. Titan®’s light-based platform provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radio- frequency).
Patients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body. The most common areas treated are the jawline, under the chin, and the abdomen.
Since the Titan® procedure heats tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated. Your laser provider can advise you if the Titan is right for you.
Although a single treatment has produced very good results for many patients, it is quite common for patients to have two or three treatments over a few months. Your laser provider will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours. Consult with your laser provider for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.
With each Titan pulse you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand. Many patients are comfortable without any medication. Your laser provider will advise you.
2D means we are treating 2 depths within the skin. Our Titan treatment is a 2D treatment as we also incorporate IPL with that appointment keeping the temperature of the skin up for a longer period of time to firm and even skin tone.

3D treatments use 3 technologies; Titan (deepest), Genesis (middle) and IPL (shallowest) to target all 3 depths within the skin. A 3D treatment will always have the best outcomes because the skin is being kept at a temperature where collagen is stimulated over a longer period of time.
Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients, the results are gradual over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
The Titan has been carefully studied in clinics around the world. It is cleared for the treatment of wrinkles in Europe and for general dermatologic use in Canada. In the US, it is cleared for topical heating to increase local tissue temperature and circulation. An additional 510(k) clearance is pending in the US for the treatment of wrinkles.
